4th Sunday in Lent

John 9:1-17 Jesus heals a man born blind, provoking a hostile(unfriendly) reaction that he regards as spiritual blindness to the things of God.

We are God's beloved children; he loves us unconditionally. God loves us even when we sin, his love will never leave. We can push God away, but he is always there for you with open arms.

What is Baptism? Baptism is our commitment to God.

In Baptism God opens our eyes to see the truth of who we are.

Who do you think you are? What kind of person are you? Please take this time to go over this question with your child.

When we are getting baptized God anoints our head with oil, and calls us to witness the light of Christ in our daily lives.

What are some ways you can the light of Christ everyday? Please take this time to go over this question with your child.

The blind man in today's Gospel could not see the light of Christ. Jesus opened his eyes to Christ. The man will now witness the light of the world in his daily life.

Activity:
what do you think the blind man first saw when Jesus gave him sight? Draw on a piece of paper.

If you were blind and Jesus gave you sight, what would be the first thing that you would do?

Prayer

Gracious God, I pray for our children, and that they stay safe and healthy through this scary time in our world. I hope you bring light in their world, and that when they are in fear they look to you God for guidance. Amen.
